Get Insights into the Landscape of Technology in K–12 Schools

Every year, we conduct a survey of our Big Deal Media K–12 Technology Newsletter readers. The survey not only helps us improve our publications and resources, but also gives us insight into the landscape of technology in K–12 schools. Check out the findings from this year’s survey.
Across the world, equity and accessibility have become two of the thorniest issues districts face as they continue to offer learning in remote and hybrid learning environments. In the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, some states delayed online learning because they realized all students could not access it.
The NPR Student Podcast Challenge, which has drawn more than 35,000 students around the country into the world of audio storytelling, is back for its third year. Students in grades 5–12 can participate in the 2021 challenge by creating a three- to eight-minute podcast about a topic they want to explore.
A free online whiteboard tool called Whiteboard.fi provides classroom teachers with live feedback and immediate overview of their students’ learning. After creating a virtual class space on Whiteboard.fi, teachers invite their students to join.
