Award Honoring Young Women for Computing Expertise

The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) presents the Award for Aspirations in Computing (Award for AiC) to ninth- through twelfth-grade students who self-identify as women, genderqueer, or nonbinary for their computing-related achievements and interests, and encourages them to pursue their passions. The award recipients are selected based on their aptitude and aspirations in technology and computing, as demonstrated by their computing experience, computing-related activities, leadership experience, tenacity in the face of barriers to access, and plans for postsecondary education. Since 2007 nearly 14,000 students have received an Award for AiC. Information about eligibilities, prizes, the application process, and more is available online. The Award for AiC is sponsored by Apple, Bank of America, Microsoft, and Motorola Solutions Foundation.

Deadline: November 5, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. (ET), for applications
