Competition for Youth to Showcase Their Vocal Talents

The American Protégé International Vocal Competition is intended for singers who would like to challenge themselves in a competitive environment. The competition is open to solo vocalists and vocal groups of all ages, nationalities, and countries. Students are invited to participate in the competition. Participants are required to submit video-recording materials for the audition. They may choose one, two, or three songs from the following repertoire categories: Opera aria, Classical (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, or Contemporary periods), Folk/Traditional, or Broadway/Musical Theatre/Jazz. A panel of qualified judges will evaluate the audition materials and choose multiple winners in each of these age ranges: Young Singers, aged 5–10; Junior, aged 11–14; and Intermediate, aged 15–17. First- and second-place winners will perform at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City in December 2020 (specific dates to be announced). A $300 scholarship, Judges’ Favorite Award Trophy, Judges’ Distinction Award Trophy, and other special awards may be granted based on the judges’ recommendations.

Deadline: Application materials received by end of day (ET), June 10, 2020
