Culture-based Resource to Help Native American Students Thrive in School

WeRNative is a comprehensive web resource for Native youth, by Native youth, providing content and stories about the topics that matter most to them. WeRNative promotes holistic health and positive growth in local Native communities and the nation at large. The website has a section titled My Culture, which addresses these topics: Traditions (History, Traditional Games & Sports, Sacred Elements, and Traditional Stories & Teachings); Identity & Native Pride (Language, PowWows, Rez Life–Urban Life, Sovereignty, Wellness and Healing, and Identity); and My Environment (Water, Native Energy, Land, Take Action, and Recycling). Another section, titled My Life, includes information and advice on My Body, My Mind, and Life Hacks. And a section titled My Relationships focuses on Relationships & Dating and Sexual Health.

Plus: American Indian and Alaska Native youth, 13–21 years old, with an adult mentor can apply for a My Impact mini grant to help shape their community in positive ways. The grant funds up to $475 for a community service project.
