Curriculum Tracing the Struggle for Women's Equality

The Bill of Rights Institute has launched a new curriculum, just in time for next year's 100th anniversary of the passage of the Nineteenth Amendment. Votes for Women: The Story of the Nineteenth Amendment tells the story of the fight for women’s equality, women’s right to vote, and the struggle, sacrifice, and hardship involved. The story will inspire students to see how diligence, patience, and determination can be the catalysts for change in their own communities. This digital resource has dozens of primary source–based student activities, tracing the struggle for women’s suffrage in the United States from its origins in Colonial America to the Seneca Falls Convention to the passage of the Nineteenth Amendment to women in the political world today. The lessons and activities in Votes for Women highlight the lives and work of Mary Wollstonecraft, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Susan B. Anthony, Abigail Adams, Sojourner Truth, Ida B. Wells, and many others.
