Designed by Teknikio, the Tekniverse learning kits let K–12 students work together to build connected objects while in remote learning or in-person classrooms. Students learn about the Internet of Things (IoT) and create smart projects in partnership with their classmates and teacher. The components of this new collaborative learning kit have been designed and tested to appeal to both boys and girls, and the lesson resources are intentionally gender neutral. Tekniverse gives students access to five core components that comprise IoT system architecture—end devices, data conduits, data storage, data analysis, and triggered objects—engaging students in a visually intuitive experience creating their personal network of connected, smart things. With an educator account, teachers can create virtual classrooms, track and compare student activity, and design individualized assignments. Free course modules and project guides cover a range of real-world applications of STEM and make it easy to integrate Tekniverse into the curriculum. The lessons address ecology, design thinking, health and fitness, digital justice, smart cities, the internet and Bluetooth, and more.
