Medieval Engineers is a sandbox game about the engineering, construction, and maintenance of architectural works and mechanical equipment using medieval technology. Players build cities, castles, and fortifications; they also construct mechanical devices and perform landscaping and underground mining. Medieval Engineers utilizes a realistic volumetric-based physics engine with a focus on structural integrity: all game objects can be assembled, disassembled, damaged, or destroyed; the object’s mass and structure influence its integrity. The game has both a creative mode and a survival mode, and an entire planet on which to play. Medieval Engineers is the second “engineering” game developed by Keen Software House. The first is Space Engineers, in which players build spaceships, space stations, and planetary outposts of various sizes and uses (civil and military). They pilot ships and travel through space to explore planets and gather resources to survive. In addition to presenting concepts such as gravity, momentum, force, and fuel conservation, Space Engineers incorporates programming into the gameplay.
