Environmental Challenges Facing the World’s Oceans
Ocean School (OS) is a free, state-of-the-art learning experience that provides the next generation of ocean citizens, innovators, and decision makers with the knowledge and tools to investigate and design innovative solutions for the accelerating challenges that face the world’s oceans. Designed for inquiry and collaboration, Ocean School lets students take the lead, ask questions, and build knowledge. OS guides the learner through immersive media using virtual reality, augmented reality, 360-degree cinema, and more to explore and foster a deep engagement with ocean science.
The Pack, created by the New York Hall of Science, is an open virtual-world game based around two timely STEM subjects—environmental awareness and computationalthinking. The game is set in a future world where healthy ecosystems have faltered and resources are scarce.
Natural Habitat Adventures invites US-based environmental educators to apply for the 2020 Monarch Butterfly Scholarship Grant. Two qualified teachers will earn an opportunity to experience the monarch butterfly migration while traveling on a small-group adventure led by premier naturalist guides.
The Captain Planet Foundation awards ecoSolution Grants ranging from $500 to $2,500 to support youth-led projects that result in real environmental outcomes. Activities must be solution-oriented, project-based, and performed by youth.
