Event Fostering Game Design and Game Education

The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is the world’s largest game jam event (game creation) taking place around the world at physical locations. Participants come together, share experiences, and express themselves in a multitude of ways using video games. The weekend stirs a global creative buzz in games, while exploring the processes of development, whether programming, iterative design, narrative exploration, or artistic expression—all condensed into a 48-hour development cycle. The GGJ encourages people of all backgrounds to participate and contribute to this global spread of game development and creativity. The GGJ stimulates collaboration and is not a competition. In 2020 the Global Game Jam will take place from January 31 through February 2. Registration is now open.
