Rapper 21 Savage’s Leading by Example Foundation has partnered with financial services company Chime for an online financial literacy and scholarship program in English and Spanish, with the aim to help students expand their monetary knowledge. The initiative is part of 21’s Bank Account Financial Literacy Campaign, offering a six-course online financial literacy program that is open to everyone. The Atlanta rapper will also give $1,000 scholarships to 100 US high school students who complete the program. The interactive mobile courses are in the form of a playlist, powered by EVERFI. The lessons cover banking, budgeting, credit scores, and more. Anyone can participate in the program, but only students in grades 9–12 who write an essay after completing the six courses are eligible to win the $1,000 scholarship.
Deadline: December 4, 2020, to be eligible for scholarship. More financial literacy opportunities will roll out in 2021.
