Free Online Courses for Creating a Safe, Accessible Digital World

CyberSleuths is a series of free online courses created by One In Tech, in collaboration with Bits N’ Bytes Cybersecurity Education, to help students aged 8–18 safely navigate cyberspace. The series is comprised of three courses: “CyberSafe—Safety and Security” provides a pathway for students to learn how to identify online risks and develop skillsets to protect themselves from cybersecurity threats. This course is available for two age ranges: 8–13 and 14–18. “E-Learning Experts—Tips for Success Online” helps students aged 14–18 build new and improved skillsets to become successful online learners. And “Pathways—Cyber Career Exploration” helps students aged 14–18 conduct research and explore the various skillsets and roles within the cybersecurity field, including through an aptitude survey. It also provides information about different career paths and education requirements for becoming a cybersecurity professional. Development of the CyberSleuths series was driven by One In Tech’s Junior Advisory Board, which is also working with both organizations to produce a six-part video series that will complement the online courses.
