The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) Innovative Reading Grant supports the planning and implementation of a unique and innovative program for children that motivates and encourages reading, especially with struggling readers. The $2,500 award is for a successful reading project that demonstrates the potential to improve reading in kindergarten through ninth grade. The project or reading program should promote the importance of reading, facilitate learners’ literacy development, and be supported by current reading research, practice, and policy. The reading program must be designed specifically for K–9 children in the school library setting. The applicant must be personal member of AASL.
Deadline: Applications will be accepted through February 1, 2021
