Mathical Book Prize Readings

The National Math Festival (NMF) inspires youth of all ages to see mathematics in the world around them through fiction and literary nonfiction. The 2020–2021 National Math Festival will begin on December 9 and 10, 2020, with live NMF Mathical Book Prize Readings by mathical authors, who will read aloud from their works and take questions from children and teens in the audience. This online event is free and open to the public, with activities designed for all ages, from very young children to adults. Everyone is invited to celebrate the fun, beauty, and power of math through games, puzzles, uplifting and intriguing talks, engaging films and film panels, live performances, and much more. The National Math Festival is organized by the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute in cooperation with the Institute for Advanced Study and the National Museum of Mathematics. Future NMF events include the Live Performances Series (January–March 2021) and the Live Online Festival Weekend (April 16–18, 2021).
