Since 1983 the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) have been recognizing excellent educators spanning all corners of the country from one-room schoolhouses in rural Montana to large school systems in the heart of New York City. PAEMST are the highest honors the United States bestows upon K–12 science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science educators. The awards are currently seeking seventh- through twelfth-grade teachers for the 2018–2019 application cycle. Awardees receive a certificate signed by the President of the United States; a trip to Washington, DC, to attend a series of recognition events and professional development opportunities; and a $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation. They also join the ranks of more than 4,800 accomplished educators who have been recognized for their teaching. Apply today or nominate an excellent teacher at www.paemst.org.
Deadlines: March 1, 2019, for nominations; May 1, 2019, for applications
