A History of Ideas is a philosophy and history podcast created by the BBC. In each episode, the hosts and their guests dig into classical thought through a modern lens, examining the impact of philosophers and their philosophies in the past and the present. The podcast includes dozens of episodes on topics such as reality and perception, altruism, personal identity, freedom, and justice. Each episode is fairly short (10 to 15 minutes) and includes an illustration showing some of the ideas discussed, from Plato to the “Doctor Who” Daleks. The episodes can be streamed or downloaded from the podcast website, which also has shorter clips from the episodes that focus on the main points.
