The nation’s largest celebration of environmental education, the National Environmental Education Foundation‘s (NEEF) annual Environmental Education (EE) Week will be held from April 19 to April 23, 2021. NEEF’s Greening STEM is an experiential approach to learning that encourages authentic problem solving while making gains in environmental knowledge and engendering a stewardship ethic. The Greening STEM model incorporates elements of placed-based learning, three-dimensional learning, project-based learning, and community-based learning. It is an adaptable, hands-on, and inquiry-based approach where students take an active role in learning. Students can be tasked with different levels of responsibility, from working as a team on a project to planning and leading a learning expedition. The Greening STEM Hub offers a plethora of tools and resources to help engage learners of all ages with practical STEM lessons that focus on real-world challenges within the natural environment.
