Intelitek’s CoderZ online learning environment helps students worldwide learn STEM by coding virtual 3D robots. The Robotics & Coding STEM Curriculum teaches students to solve STEM problems through code, using mathematics and engineering to overcome challenges. CoderZ features integrated 3D simulations with scenes that let students test their code as they solve problems from the real world. The simulations offer a Head-Up Display (HUD) that shows students data from their robot’s various sensors so they receive real-time feedback. Students also have the option to leave a trail. Because CoderZ is cloud based, students can access the program from school, home, or anywhere else they may be. CoderZ integrates many STEM disciplines into one project-based learning environment, preparing students for tomorrow’s world. The CoderZ website outlines subscription and licensing plans. Teachers can sign up for a 14-day free trial with one seat. The site is accessible in English and Spanish.

Plus: CoderZ’s teacher support includes a free online workshop series for STEM teachers. The series is comprised of three sessions, each covering a different topic. In Session 1, participants will learn the various components of a robots drive train, as well as how it is powered, how it turns, and how to control it using code. By the end of the session, they will be driving their virtual robot around. In Session 2, participants will learn about the various sensors that robots use to sense their surroundings and how to put the data from the sensors into good use, with code. And in Session 3, they will learn how to use variables, loops, and mathematics to program their robots to perform complex operations and accurately navigate their surroundings. By the end of the session, they will be able to program their virtual robot to autonomously follow a line using basic control algorithms. In the workshop, participants will be using the CoderZ online learning environment to program their virtual robots. They can sign up for a free trial account.
