Summer Programs on Entrepreneurship and Finance

The University of Pennsylvania’s Knowledge@Wharton High School (KWHS) Global Young Leaders Academy (GYLA) is an intensive two-week summer program for a select group of students who are currently in grades 9–12. The two-week experience features Wharton faculty presentations, in-depth learning from high school teachers in the KWHS network, residential activities, field trips, and relationship building with other teens. GYLA draws its content from hundreds of engaging KWHS lesson plans and online business journal articles. In addition to a successful entrepreneurship module, KWHS is adding a new finance module this year. KWHS offers the choice of five sessions during June, July, or August for the entrepreneurship program. Students can check the website for specific dates. KWHS is waiving the application fee for the entrepreneurship program in the hope of encouraging students from all backgrounds to apply for the program. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. The finance program is offered in three sessions during June, July, and August. The specific dates are indicated on the website. The application deadline for the finance program is April 15, 2019, for those needing financial aid; all other applications are due by April 30, 2019.
