Little Kids Rock partners with public school districts in some of the nation’s most economically disadvantaged communities with the goal of ensuring that all K–12 students have access to music education and its many benefits.
Sponsored by The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Department of VSA and Accessibility, the VSA International Young Soloists Competition is open to young musicians with disabilities, aged 14–25. Applicants can apply as an instrumental or vocal soloist, or as ensembles (including bands) of two to five members.
VSA Playwright Discovery Program, sponsored by The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Department of VSA and Accessibility, invites young writers with disabilities and collaborative groups that include students with disabilities in grades 6–12 to explore the disability experience through the art of writing for performance: plays, screenplays, spoken word poetry (for single performer or a group), or music theater.
For the third consecutive year,thousands of students in hundreds of schools across the United States will be competing in Learning Ally’s Great Reading Games. To participate, students must read daily for at least 20 minutes, with the aim of doing the most reading during the Games.
